Casino Plus’ Color Your World Foundation Builds Tent Village, Delivers Safe Water to Quake-Hit Mindanao Communities

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, PHILIPPINES, 13 June 2026 — Color Your World Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Casino Plus, on Saturday in partnership with local government built a tent village in Barangay Lagao in General Santos City, providing temporary shelter to families affected by the magnitude-7.8 quake that hit Mindanao.

Powered by its flagship disaster resilience pillar, “Project Bigkis,” Color Your World provided livable tents and over 2,000 gallons of drinking water to evacuees and affected residents of Barangays Lagao and Calumpang in General Santos City as hundreds of families struggle in accessing safe drinking water and temporary shelter.

The deployment has so far faced intense localized hurdles, including heavy downpours and persistent seismic activity. Earlier Saturday, “Color Champions” experienced a sharp magnitude-5.6 aftershock that caused minor property damage in the area. Despite the rainfall and structural challenges, the team have successfully distributed life-saving resources without interruption.

“The need on the ground is immediate, and the reality facing many families in the evacuation centers is heartbreaking,” said Casino Plus Chief Executive Officer Evan Spytma.

“When you see parents worried about where their children will sleep, or families struggling to access basic necessities, it reminds you that behind every disaster are real people trying to get through each day. Our Color Champions — our employees and volunteers on the ground — are committed to standing with these communities, not only by providing immediate relief such as shelter and clean drinking water, but by helping them rebuild and move forward in the months ahead,” Spytma added.

For hundreds of families still grappling with trauma and seeking refuge in open-air covered courts and makeshift shelters, the arrival of physical shelter marks the first step toward stability.

Fernando Tatad Jr., community leader of the Purok 20 association, said their community would prioritize the elderly and children for accommodation in the tent village, emphasizing that many residents continue to stay in open areas because of the ongoing aftershocks.

“Ang laking tulong talaga, sobra-sobra. Ang laking pasalamat namin kasi ‘yung tent, magre-request sana ako kaso binigay na ni Lord at ng Casino Plus sa’min,” Tatad said.

Access to clean and safe water has also been a challenge amid disruptions to local water systems. In addition, damage to roads and bridges has hampered distribution efforts, particularly in remote communities.

Another quake survivor, Maureen Ortega, thanked Casino Plus and the Color Your World Foundation for providing water gallons, adding that obtaining clean water and hygiene supplies has been difficult over the past week.

“May dalawang maliit pa ako [na anak], sobrang hirap pag walang malinis na tubig. Siguro okay lang walang kuryente pero tubig ang kailangan namin dito. Hindi madali ‘yung nangyari sa amin. ‘Yung mga anak namin, nanginginig, sobrang takot kapag may lindol,” Ortega said.

As communities begin the difficult journey toward recovery, Color Your World Foundation will continue its mission across Sarangani, safely reaching more affected families and delivering immediate relief to those who need it most.

Carziqo Relaunches A-DS Driverless Delivery Vehicle Service in Atlanta, Expanding Its Autonomous Logistics Asset Model

Carziqo has once again brought its A-DS, or Delivery Series Autonomous Asset, driverless delivery vehicle service to Atlanta, marking another step in the company’s broader push to connect autonomous mobility technology with urban logistics, last-mile delivery, and asset-based vehicle operations.

The renewed launch positions Atlanta as one of Carziqo’s key operating markets for autonomous delivery services, with the company aiming to support businesses, delivery operators, and platform participants through a more efficient, technology-driven vehicle service model.

Unlike traditional delivery fleets that rely heavily on human drivers, the A-DS series is designed around autonomous navigation, intelligent dispatching, vehicle monitoring, and cloud-based operational management. The vehicles are intended for structured delivery routes, urban logistics scenarios, and high-frequency short-distance transport services.

According to Carziqo, the A-DS service is not simply a vehicle deployment, but part of a larger autonomous asset ecosystem. Through the platform, delivery vehicles can be managed, monitored, and allocated based on operational demand, helping improve fleet utilization while reducing inefficiencies commonly found in conventional delivery models.

“Atlanta has strong logistics demand, a dynamic business environment, and growing interest in smarter urban mobility solutions,” a Carziqo representative said. “The return of A-DS to Atlanta reflects our confidence in the city’s role as an important hub for autonomous delivery and intelligent vehicle operations.”

The company said the A-DS vehicles are equipped with multi-sensor perception systems, route planning capabilities, and platform-based operating support. These features are designed to help the vehicles respond to complex road conditions, optimize delivery paths, and maintain operational visibility throughout the delivery process.

Industry observers have noted that autonomous delivery vehicles are increasingly being viewed as a practical entry point for driverless technology. Compared with passenger robotaxi services, delivery vehicles can often be deployed in more controlled scenarios, such as fixed business districts, scheduled delivery corridors, campus environments, warehouse-to-store routes, and local commercial delivery networks.

Carziqo’s latest Atlanta deployment appears to follow that direction. Rather than presenting autonomous vehicles only as a future transportation concept, the company is framing the A-DS series as a practical service asset that can support real-world commercial logistics.

The launch also reflects a broader shift in the mobility industry. As e-commerce, food delivery, local retail fulfillment, and same-day delivery services continue to expand, companies are looking for ways to reduce labor dependency, improve route efficiency, and create more predictable operating models. Autonomous delivery vehicles are seen by many technology firms as one possible solution to these challenges.

For Carziqo, the A-DS series represents another layer of its autonomous vehicle strategy. The company has previously positioned itself around intelligent mobility, autonomous vehicle rental, and vehicle-based income participation models. With the A-DS rollout, Carziqo is extending that vision from passenger transportation into delivery and logistics services.

The company said its long-term goal is to create a connected autonomous mobility network where different vehicle series can serve different urban needs, including ride-hailing, executive mobility, delivery, and commercial transportation.

While autonomous vehicle adoption still faces regulatory, technical, infrastructure, and public-trust challenges, Carziqo’s renewed activity in Atlanta suggests continued confidence in the market potential of driverless logistics.

The company said it will continue monitoring real-world operating data, user demand, delivery efficiency, and platform performance as it expands the A-DS service model.

As cities continue to explore new ways to modernize transportation and logistics, Carziqo’s A-DS driverless delivery vehicle service may become part of a wider conversation on how autonomous assets can reshape the future of urban commerce.

Carziqo Extends Relief Aid to Earthquake-Affected Families in General Santos City

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — June 2026 — Carziqo has continued its community relief response for families affected by the recent powerful earthquake in Mindanao, with its local team providing assistance to residents in Barangay Tambler, Barangay Sinawal, and Barangay Fatima in General Santos City.

The relief activity was carried out by Carziqo’s local team led by Melchor Relova, who helped coordinate the preparation and distribution of essential supplies to residents affected by the earthquake. The initiative forms part of Carziqo’s broader commitment to stand with Filipino communities during times of hardship and recovery.

Following the recent earthquake that affected General Santos City and nearby areas in southern Mindanao, many families faced fear, disruption, and uncertainty. Some residents were concerned about aftershocks, damage to homes and structures, and the immediate need for basic food and daily supplies.

In response, Carziqo organized relief support focused on practical assistance for local households. The company’s team prepared and distributed relief goods, including rice, food packs, canned goods, noodles, and other essential items for residents in need.

Through the efforts of Melchor Relova and the local relief team, Carziqo was able to bring assistance directly to communities in Barangay Tambler, Barangay Sinawal, and Barangay Fatima. The distribution aimed to provide immediate support to families, elderly residents, workers, and other community members affected by the disaster.

Carziqo said the relief effort reflects the company’s belief that corporate responsibility must be demonstrated through action, especially when communities are facing difficult moments.

“Carziqo has been closely monitoring the situation in the Philippines and remains deeply concerned for the people affected by the earthquake,” the company said. “During times of disaster, even simple assistance such as food, rice, and basic supplies can bring comfort and hope to families who are trying to recover.”

The company emphasized that its relief response was not only about providing material assistance, but also about showing solidarity with Filipino communities. Each relief package represented a message of care, support, and encouragement for families rebuilding their lives after the earthquake.

Carziqo also expressed appreciation to its local team members and community supporters who helped make the relief activity possible. Their efforts helped ensure that the supplies were prepared, organized, and delivered directly to residents who needed support.

For Carziqo, the initiative reflects a wider understanding of business responsibility. While the company continues to focus on intelligent mobility, technology, and future transportation solutions, it believes that progress must always be connected with humanity, compassion, and community care.

“Technology may help move people forward, but responsibility gives progress its real meaning,” Carziqo said. “As a company, we believe that standing with communities during times of hardship is part of building a better future.”

Carziqo extended its sincere sympathy to all families affected by the Mindanao earthquake and expressed hope for the continued recovery of General Santos City and nearby communities.

The company said it will continue to monitor the situation and remain attentive to opportunities to support communities within its capacity.

In this time of recovery, Carziqo stands with the people of General Santos City, Mindanao, and the Philippines.

The Philippine Energy Crisis Nobody Wants to Be Accountable For

previewAs government moves to address recurring red and yellow alert, PARE stresses that lasting solutions require more than reactive measures. The group calls for stronger oversight, accountability across the energy sector, and institutionalized consumer participation to ensure that energy policies deliver affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity for all Filipinos.

June 9, 2026 – Partners for Affordable and Reliable Energy welcomed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive for the Department of Energy (DOE) to address recurring power alerts.

“We welcome the President's call to address the power situation, but recurring red and yellow alerts cannot be blamed on one agency alone. If red and yellow alerts happen almost every year, then this is no longer an energy problem but an Energy Crisis long neglected,” PARE Chief Advocate Officer Nic Satur, Jr. said.

The group stressed that solving the country’s energy problems requires more than reactive measures whenever red and yellow alerts occur.

“This is a shared accountability issue involving Congress, the Senate, energy companies, NGCP, and both Private and electric cooperatives. Perhaps it is time for all of them to explain why consumers continue to suffer the same problems year after year.  Accountability must extend across the entire energy sector,” Satur said.

Regulators such as the DOE, Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), and National Electrification Administration (NEA) play a critical role in planning and policy. Still, they are equally responsible for ensuring that energy players comply with laws, standards, and performance obligations.

Beyond regulators, Congress and the Senate must exercise diligence when granting franchises and oversight powers to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and distribution utilities. Transmission operators, generation companies, distribution utilities, and electric cooperatives must also answer for failures that contribute to recurring supply shortages, brownouts, high systems losses and expensive electricity costs.

“If the President is serious about solving the energy crisis, accountability must extend beyond the DOE. Regulators, lawmakers, energy companies, and all institutions entrusted with consumer protection share this responsibility,” Satur said.

PARE emphasized that consumers should no longer be treated as passive observers during energy crises. The group called for active consumer participation in technical working groups, task forces, regulatory proceedings, and independent audits involving all energy players.

“Consumers ultimately pay for every inefficiency, delay, outage, and pass-on charge in the system. They deserve a meaningful role in shaping reforms and monitoring industry performance,” Satur said.

“We pay for every outage, every delay, every inefficiency, and every pass-on charge in the system. If consumers are expected to shoulder the costs, then we deserve a seat at the table where energy policies, reforms, and accountability measures are being discussed,” Satur said
