The Kid LAROI teams up with Jungkook of BTS and Central Cee for new single “Too Much”

After a series of internet-breaking teasers, The Kid LAROI unveils his new single and music video “TOO MUCH” with Jung Kook and Central Cee, out today via Columbia Records and Sony Music Entertainment. Uniting these stars for the very first time, this unprecedented powerhouse collaboration heralds the arrival of The Kid LAROI’s full-length album, THE FIRST TIME, dropping in November.

Fans can also purchase limited edition TOO MUCH CDs and new merch here.

“TOO MUCH” intertwines three styles, countries, and cultures with The Kid LAROI, Jung Kook out of South Korea, and Central Cee repping the UK. The track’s head-nodding bounce and glowing keys accent the back-and-forth between this trio. The momentum culminates on an instantly catchy chorus, “If we had the chance and the time to spend, would you do it again?

Would you do it again? Was it too much?”

Directed by Ramez Silyan, the visual depicts the three on various covers of “TOO MUCH” magazine. Between highly stylized performance vignettes complete with elite choreography, the clip ponders love under the microscope of fame and celebrity obsession. Sharpened by a provocative edge and unshakable melody, it introduces The Kid LAROI’s next season with a bang. Watch the music video here.

Prior to the song’s arrival, Billboard noted its union of “three of the biggest male artists in the new class of 2020s breakout stars,” and UPROXX proclaimed, “The Kid LAROI is going global.” The Kid LAROI’s “TOO MUCH” featuring Jungkook and Central Cee is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Columbia Records and Sony Music Entertainment.

The additional performers are supported and co-presented by Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA)

AXEAN Festival, Southeast Asia’s first collaborative intraregional music showcase festival, announces the final roster of its artist slate from Taiwan. Supported by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), the third batch of performers includes four-piece instrumental act CICADA, Taiwanese-British act NIO, and an all-star performance featuring collaborations by jazz-funk band Robot Swing, Canadian-Taiwanese rapper LEO37, and new music darling Star Wu.

Established in 2019 by the Ministry of Culture, TAICCA supports the production, distribution, development, and overseas expansion of audiovisual content, digital content, music, comic, performing art, and more.

Get to know the lineup addition

NIO is currently the most exciting pop sensation in Taiwan, having recently won the popular songwriting reality show Music Maker (音乐主理人), solidifying his spot as one of the best young singer-songwriters in Taiwan at the moment. NIO released his four-track EP ANTI FOG LENSES earlier in February this year, and has recently returned with new singles 'Sometimes' and 'When You Gonna (Get Your Shit Together)'.

Cicada is a four piece instrumental band formed in 2009, and named after the insect that people often hear around themselves in nature and is instantly recognisable by its sound. The band was nominated for the “Best Instrumental Album Production” award at the 2020 Golden Melody Awards for their album Hiking In The Mist, as well as the “Best Instrumentalist” award at the 2023 Golden Indie Music Awards for their latest album Seeking the Sources of Streams. The band was also involved in creating the soundtrack to the critically acclaimed 2022 Japanese thriller film A Man, which premiered at the 79th Venice Film Festival. For their work on the film, Cicada was nominated for the “Best Music” award at the 46th Japan Academy Film Prize.

Robot Swing is a jazz funk band that is symbolic of the ever-evolving indie music sound in Taiwan. Incorporating elements of R&B, soul, funk, and jazz in their music, the groovy band has collaborated with musicians from all backgrounds, including pop sensation Hung Peiyu, Tamil rapper SVDP and saxophonist Hsieh Minyen. They were recognized with a nomination for the “Best Rhythm & Blues Song” at the 2021 Golden Indie Music Awards. Their debut album System Booting… was also nominated for the “Best Band” award at the 2023 Golden Melody Awards, and won the “Best New Artist” award at Singapore’s very own Freshmusic Awards.

Robot Swing will be joined by frequent collaborator and producer LEO37, a Canadian-Taiwanese veteran hip-hop musician and rapper who is instrumental in the advancements made by the Taiwanese indie hip-hop scene over the past decade. LEO37 has been involved in some of the biggest hip-hop events in Taiwan’s history, including the first-ever appearance of Wu-Tang Clan in Taiwan, as well as some of the largest and highest grossing hip hop shows in Taiwan, taking the Taiwanese hip hop talents onto a global stage.

Clara Benin to stage ‘befriending my tears’ concert this September

Clara Benin celebrates the release of her sophomore studio album with a major concert happening at the Music Museum on September 22, 2023 (Friday), from 8 p.m. onwards.

Aptly titled ‘befriending my tears, a Clara Benin concert,’ the show chronicles Benin’s journey as an artist coming to terms with self-acceptance and healing while showcasing musical maturity through years of experience and growth.

“Headlining my concert at the Music Museum feels incredibly exciting and a bit nerve-wracking,” the Filipino singer-songwriter shares. “I think that the venue's classic charm and quality acoustics make it the perfect place to perform my new album! I really want my fans to be comfortable and fully immersed in my music, so choosing a seated venue was very important to me.”

‘befriending my tears, a Clara Benin concert’ serves as her second major show after staging a sold-out, two-night residency at Teatrino Greenhills in 2016. This time around, the Parallel Universe artist will be performing all the songs from her newly released album, along with fan favorites from her catalog.

“I haven't performed a very long set in a while,” Benin explains. “You can expect to hear all the new songs from my album and, of course, some old favorites.”

Miley Cyrus releases reflective new single “Used To Be Young”

Miley Cyrus has released her new song and video, “Used To Be Young” – Listen here and watch the video here. In talking about “Used To Be Young,” Miley says, “This song is about honoring who we’ve been, loving who we are, and celebrating who we will become. I feel proud when reflecting on my past and optimistic when thinking about the future. I am grateful to my loyal fans who make my dreams a reality daily. I am sincerely thankful for the stability of your steadfast support. This song is for you.”

Regarding the video, Miley noted, “It’s super emotional because I am kind of a mini-me of my mom and I could see her inside of the camera by using a technology where I could livestream with my mom from inside of the camera. So, we could see each other and as she was dancing it just made me cry, it made me laugh, it brought up so many real emotions and I think it’s really letting people into true emotion, which I don’t feel we get to see very much these days.”

In celebration of the release of “Used To Be Young”, Miley shared stories and insights from the many chapters of her life within the TV special event Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions). Reimagined from the version that originally aired on Disney+, the special features a brand-new interview as well as music from her latest release Endless Summer Vacation, and aired on ABC just hours before the release of “Used To Be Young”. The new, reimagined special is now streaming on Hulu.

“Used To Be Young” is Miley’s first new music offering since the release of her critically and commercially acclaimed album Endless Summer Vacation which featured her hit single “Flowers” and twelve additional tracks. A true worldwide smash, “Flowers” spent 8 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100  – a personal best for Miley. “Flowers” was #1 on US Pop Radio for 10 weeks and is the fastest-running song in nearly a decade to achieve the position. “Flowers” has streamed four billion times and was the fastest song in history to hit 500 million streams on Spotify. It’s officially the longest-running UK #1 single by a female solo artist.

Additionally, “Used To Be Young” arrives just before the 10th anniversary of Miley Cyrus’ 3x Platinum album Bangerz (September). A benchmark album, Bangerz was home to beloved original hits such as “Wrecking Ball,” “We Can’t Stop,” and “Adore You.” In celebration of the anniversary, there will be a limited-edition vinyl with updated packaging featuring never-before-seen before photos and the bonus track “23” with Mike WiLL Made-It. Poison Ivy by Indrajeet Dasgupta - An Excerpt.

A poem is an excerpt from the book ‘Borderless’ of Indrajeet Dasgupta which will be launched by September this year.

1.    Poison Ivy

You are brought up to be mannered, yet bred for the kill,
Never too protected, barring mama's waffles and grill.
Horses, tennis, and violin by six, athletics, piano too in the mix,
Regimented, disciplined – like that old song on bricks.

They soon call your sarcasm, and your attitude cavalier,
You never cared… Oh, the drugs – they have no fear.
The schools are few, the dreamers many,
Your first day at Ivy but an epiphany.

Small dorm rooms, dining hall food,
Track and field, campus girls in the hood.
You had your fill early, though not wise,
Found divinity, in the devil's disguise.

You start work, with the famous six-figure,
Eighteen hours, luncheons and dreams bigger.
On your thirtieth, passed out in a drunken bout,
Trembling on the high rise ledge, a classic burnout.

The Ivy is clingy, yet symbol of eternal life,
Your life's worth is much more – than a career and strife.

“Poison Ivy” is a lyrical poem with four stanzas (quatrains). Every verse is intertwined which is a great way to recite poetry. This is how the author gives the poem its own melody or rhythm. The poem is written in the first person or could be a narrator. The Author used common words to delight the readers with a pattern of rhyming words more so, to arouse their emotions.

The poem is not about sufferings. It tells us that even at an early age we can decide on our own be it good or bad which could lead to our life success or destruction respectively.

The poem symbolizes the Ivy, like these vines people may have different personalities varies in the environment where we grow. But what matters most is how we live and how we should spend our life to become the kind of person you are.
